Roll-to-Roll Printing

Testrite offers Roll-to-roll printing out of our Hackensack NJ facilities right outside NYC. This is UV digital printing. The durability of the inks means that lamination is not needed for most applications.

So what is roll-to-roll printing? This is where we load in a roll of graphic media up to .020” thick, then we print on it. As it prints, the graphic gets rolled onto an empty core. When the roll is done being printed, we remove the original core which gets re-used for the next project, and we laser cut the printed roll.

When is roll-to-roll a great option? Great question!  Printing roll-to-roll is less expensive than printing individual sheets. We can set up to print an entire roll of media which can be 150+ feet long. Compare this to flatbed printing where every eight feet of media needs a new sheet needs to be swapped out. This makes roll-to-roll printing labor efficient and therefore less expensive.

Once the graphics are printed roll-to-roll, we then need to cut up the prints. Great news, we have the industry’s best roll media laser cutting solutions! This means we can slice up a roll of printed graphics fast, again with very little labor and incredible precision.

When do we recommend roll-to-roll printing?  When you want to use thin rollable graphic media, roll-to-roll printing may be the right solution. Whether you need a print for a SnapFrame, magnetic receptive printed graphics, roll-to-roll printing is ideal. We commonly print roll-to-roll print paper, styrene, polystyrene, duratrans films, backlit films, vinyl, laminates, magnetic receptive media, and more!

What sets Testrite apart is the tight integration between hardware and graphics. When you buy a graphic frame with printing, you know the two were designed to work together.

Testrite is also proud to offer industry-leading roll printing solutions including being able to print gloss and matte finishes, or a mix of the two with spot gloss or spot varnish.
